Power Off and Unplug the MacBook
Make sure the MacBook is completely powered off and disconnected from any power source. If your battery is swollen, take appropriate precautions.
Remove the Bottom Case
Use a P5 Pentalobe driver to remove the six screws securing the lower case,Throughout this repair, keep track of each screw and make sure it goes back exactly where it came from. Place a suction cup near the edge of the bottom case and gently pull up to create a gap. Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry around the edges and lift off the bottom case. Apply a suction handle near the front edge of the lower case, between the screw holes. Pull up on the suction handle to create a gap between the lower case and the frame.
Disconnect the Battery
Use blunt nose tweezers to gently peel back the pull tab covering the battery data connector and the point of a spudger to flip up the small locking tab securing the battery data connector. Locate the battery connector and use the plastic spudger to carefully disconnect the battery from the logic board. This step ensures there is no power running through the device while you work.
Remove the Speakers
Use the point of a spudger to flip up the small locking tab securing the right speaker connector and blunt nose tweezers or your fingers to grab the pull tab on the head of the connector and slide it straight out of its socket. The speakers are located on both sides of the MacBook, near the edges of the logic board.Carefully disconnect the speaker cables from the logic board using the spudger. Gently lift the speakers out of their compartments. Be careful not to damage the surrounding components.
Install the New Speakers
Place the new speakers in the same position as the old ones, ensuring they fit snugly in their compartments. insert the point of your spudger between the left edge of the right speaker and the frame. Reconnect the speaker cables to the logic board.
